I’ve been looking into some great options for Thanksgiving dining this year, and I’ve found a few places in New York City that make it easy to enjoy the holiday without all the kitchen stress. It’s helpful to know these spots are offering special menus so you can plan ahead.
Thanksgiving Dining Options
Barley & Grain
This spot on Amsterdam Avenue offers a prix fixe menu for Thanksgiving. It’s priced at $49 per person and includes a glass of sparkling punch. They serve from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. If turkey isn’t your preference, they also have braised short rib or roast salmon as main course choices.
The meal comes with several sides for each party, up to 10 people. These include orange ginger cranberries, roasted root vegetables, candied sweet potato puree, and cornbread sausage stuffing. For dessert, you can choose between pumpkin mousse or apple raisin crisp. I’m noting that reservations are recommended for this place.
Boulud Sud
Located on West 64th Street, Boulud Sud has a prix fixe menu for Thanksgiving. It costs $95 per person, with a $35 option for children 12 and under. They are open from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A thoughtful touch they offer is a turkey sandwich to take home, perfect for enjoying the next day’s leftovers.
Their menu presents a modern take on the holiday, featuring a kale salad with beets, dates, and spiced walnuts. The traditional turkey is part of the meal, followed by gingerbread with a yogurt cardamom mousse, and spiced quince with lemon ginger sorbet. It sounds like a refined dining experience.
Bar Boulud
Another option is Bar Boulud, found on Broadway. Their Thanksgiving prix fixe menu is $65 per person, and $35 for children 12 and under. They are open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. This restaurant offers a good variety for those who might not want a classic Thanksgiving meal.
Some of their featured options include crab salad with curry, ravioli, or sea scallops with potato gnocchi. For more traditional tastes, they also have pumpkin and pecan desserts, along with classic sides like Brussels sprouts and cornbread. It seems like a good choice for families with different preferences.
Jacob’s Pickles
On Amsterdam Avenue, Jacob’s Pickles is offering a five-course meal for $35 per person. Seatings are available at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. I’ve noticed that this price for five courses is quite reasonable, especially considering their usual appetizer and main course prices.
The meal begins with deviled eggs and pickles, which are staples at this restaurant. This is followed by potato leek soup with bacon and a beet salad with apples and walnuts. You can choose turkey or ham or salmon as your entree. For a unique dessert, they offer pumpkin-fried Oreos.
5 Napkin Burger
If a casual meal is more your style, 5 Napkin Burger is open on Broadway from 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. They are known for their substantial burgers and have created a special Thanksgiving-themed turkey burger. You can get this burger for $14.95, and it’s available throughout November.
This turkey burger is stuffed with herbed goat cheese and topped with cranberry ketchup, shallots, lettuce, and tomato. It comes with a side of sweet potato fries. To complete the festive meal, they also offer a pumpkin-spiced milkshake for $6, made with vanilla ice cream and pumpkin spice.
Ouest
Located on Broadway, Ouest is another restaurant that will be open on Thanksgiving. Their Thanksgiving menu costs $85 per person, with a $45 option for children 12 and under. They are serving from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This restaurant is praised for its free-range turkey, which comes with a unique stuffing featuring sausage, oysters, and pine nuts.
For those who prefer something other than turkey, Ouest also offers steak, salmon, and a pork chop on their menu. It’s good to know that options are available for everyone, no matter their main course preference. This sounds like a sophisticated choice for Thanksgiving dinner.
Nice Matin
Nice Matin, situated on West 79th Street, has a $36.50 prix fixe Thanksgiving menu. You can select a starter from options like soup, salad, or escargot. Then, choose a meat or fish dish for your main course.
For dessert, you can opt for traditional pumpkin pie or apple crisp, or choose a richer option like chocolate cake or cheesecake. They are also introducing a new tea-based hot toddy called the Lord-Bergamot Hot Toddy for $13, which could be a nice festive drink.
Pre-Made Meal Options
West Side Market
For those who prefer to dine at home but want to avoid the cooking, West Side Market offers complete Thanksgiving dinners. These are perfect if you want to stay in or if you are bringing less mobile family members home.
A dinner that serves six to eight people is available for $140. It includes a 12-14 pound cooked turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, steamed vegetables, mashed or sweet potatoes, and a holiday pie. You can add turkey carving for an extra $10. If you wish to cook the turkey yourself, the price for the entire dinner is reduced to $120.
They also offer a smaller, healthier version that serves four to six people for $80. This includes a 6 to 7 pound cooked turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, butternut squash with kale, baked yams, and a pie. The market provides delivery within a 10-block radius, and orders must be placed by the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Épicerie Boulud
On Broadway, Épicerie Boulud is offering Thanksgiving packages and a la carte items that can be picked up and reheated at home. The menu focuses on traditional flavors with a gourmet touch. I’m keeping in mind that orders should be placed by November 27th.
The dinner package includes butternut squash soup with toasted pumpkin seeds and cinnamon marshmallows. Appetizers include a parmesan pumpkin loaf and small rolls. The free-range roasted turkey is available in sizes for six to eight guests (14-17 pounds) or 10 to 12 guests (17-20 pounds). The stuffing is made with glazed chestnuts, cornbread, cippolini onions, fine herbs, and turkey stock.
Accompanying the turkey are whipped potatoes with butter, cranberry sauce, turkey jus, and roasted fall vegetables. The package for six to eight people is $295, and for 10 to 12 people, it is $395. These package options offer a comprehensive solution for a festive meal at home.
It’s been helpful to explore these different Thanksgiving dining and meal options. Knowing that places like New York City restaurants and markets offer these services makes planning much simpler for families like mine, especially when looking for ways to enjoy the holiday comfort without the usual workload. We are planning our trip for 2026 and want to make it as smooth as possible.
